Visiting the Antoni Tapies museum

The Antoni Tàpies public image acquired an iconic category that connected him to Abstract Expressionism and the desire to turn subjectivity into prime material. While his choice of materials took centre-stage, his capacity for embracing multiple meanings in order to leave behind the narrative and literary contents of the previous era turned Tàpies into a prototype of the modern artist.

The exhibition Collection, 1955–65 focuses on that period and includes works and documents from the Fundació’s Collection and Archive, as well as some significant loans from private collections. Also included is a screening of the documentary Tàpies, by Clovis Prévost, and produced by Maeght, Paris, in 1969.

The Art School Blancdeguix in El Masnou, Barcelona

This afternoon we were visiting the Art School Blancdeguix in El Masnou. We took the train that is running every ten minutes from the center of Barcelona to this little city, reachable in only 20 minutes, located directly close to the beach. The german-spanish artist Alejandra Rubies invited us for a talk about possibilities to interact with our art society art aspects.

The Art School is really different from ours in Berlin with a wide range of different people and supported by the local village (great luck).
We have had a wonderful time with Nuri, head of the Art School, and Alejandra and decided to start a workshop together in 2017, just in summertime, when we do not have any classes in Berlin. Great aspects for 2017.
